Occupy Space: Reading Room

The Occupy Space Reading Room at No.6A Rutland Street is opening at 6pm on Thursday 18th July it has been created specifically to house an extensive selection of publications from The Library Project, a public resource library of photobooks, magazines, and zines, collected by PhotoIreland over the last 3 years. The Reading Room will be open to the public from 12 to 6pm on Friday, Saturday and Sunday with daily events such as readings and discussions with invited curators and local artists.

At 3pm on Saturday 20th July Mary Conlon Director of Ormston House will lead a drop-in discussion group around the Italo Calvino short story: The Adventures of a Photographer. Occupy Space is a not-for-profit arts organisation that has been active in Limerick City since 2009. They are currently based in a slack space on Rutland Street which operates as a project and exhibition space run by a small dedicated team of volunteers. Occupy Space promotes the work of recent graduates and emerging artists, providing opportunities for local, national and international artists on a project-to-project basis.
