6.30-9pm - Drop-in Workshop: Creative Con-artist, Esy-peasy Forgery!
5-10pm - Exhibition: Yo llo mmot by Californian artist Jim Ricks.
6-10pm - Meet the Artists: Chat to the artists who set-up Occupy Space Gallery.
Culture Night 2010 at Occupy Space will be a hive of activity; kids, teens and adults will learn the tricks of the trade to replicate masterpieces in a Creative Con-artist Workshop. Drop-in from 6.30-9pm where you will learn to cheat, fraud and forge your favourite art-work, receive your official Con-artist certificate and exhibit your piece in the gallery.
On Culture Night visit Yo llo mmot a dynamic exhibition by Californian artist Jim Ricks which replicates a series of works by Tom Molloy. Through a replication process Ricks pays homage to Tom Molloy’s solo show Yo lo vi. These approximations made on a reduced budget, are based on Molloy's exhibition catalogue, and in this process of re-interpretation take on a new layer of meaning. The project focuses on art history, institutional critique, boundaries and ownership, but primarily it investigates the origins of creativity.
Chat with the artists who set-up Occupy Space and enjoy refreshments at Meet the Artists Social from 6-10pm.
